Webmaster ist im Urlaub und Server spielt verrückt

Ich habe ein Problem.

Seit 17:30 ist der Server extrem lahm, es kommen Mails von watchdog wegen Neustart apache und die CPU Auslastung ist extrem hoch.

Ich habe ein ps aux gemacht:

Was kann / muss ich tun ?

An der Ausgabe von ps ux hättest ja selbst schon sehen können dass der MySQL Prozess und der Apache alles an CPU wegknuspert...

Such bei denen mal nach Fehlern, die Logs anzuschauen wäre ein erster Schritt.

abgesehen von vielen Zugriffen auf nicht vorhandene phpmyadmin ... Verzeichnisse habe ich folgenden Abschnitt gefunden, der sich ab dieser Zeit dauernd wiederholt.

Aus deiner Apache2.conf braucht es den Abschnitt für den MPM_Prefork. Dieser wird laut deiner Modulausgabe verwendet.

Dazu dann bitte noch die Ausgabe von "cat /proc/cpuinfo" und "free -m". Die Ausgaben dann aber der besseren Lesbarkeit halber in Code-Tags packen. Die erreichst du im Editor über den #-Button.

Du könntest die Werte bei "MaxClients" problemlos noch etwas höher drehen (auf 70-80 erstmal) und den Apache dann neustarten (/etc/init.d/apache2 restart).

Ich vermute aber, dass auf dem Server eine Anwendung läuft, die ziemlich eigennützig mit den Datenbank-Ressourcen (MySQL) umgeht. Der CPU-Verbrauch vom mysqld spricht dafür.

Wie lange ist denn dein Administrator noch in Urlaub? Braucht es hier nun eine temporäre Frickellösung, die nur 1-2 Tage irgendwie halten muss, oder muss das System noch 2-3 Wochen halten, bis dein Admin wieder da ist?

Bei dem ganzen Gelese frage ich mich, warum das nicht 'besser' eingestellt ist.


Die Anwendung ist offensichtlich unser CMS (papoo). Kann ich da auch was machen (vorübergehend) ? So zum testen etc. ?

Der openx-Adserver oder piwik wird es ja nicht sein, oder ?

Auf dem Server läuft noch einiges mehr an CMS. Im Moment scheint deine Seite ja problemlos erreichbar zu sein - zumindest läd die hier ziemlich flüssig.

Mit solchen Aussagen sollte man sehr sehr vorsichtig sein, wenn man kein Experte ist. Du kennst dich mit der Materie nicht aus und kannst daher nicht sagen, warum dein Experte Dinge so gemacht hat. Mir fallen 158 Gründe ein, warum die schnelle Lösung hier auch die falsche sein könnte.

Bei anderen Dingen kann ich zu Recht (?) von Stufe 3 und 4 ausgehen. Für die 1 bin ich zu neugierig.
