vServer & RoundCube-Webmailer

Hallo zusammen.

Man wächst ja bekanntlich mit seinen Aufgaben und ich bemühe mich auch redlich. Aber ich komme mal wieder nicht weiter.

Ich habe auf meinem vServer (S4Y / Suse 9.3 / Confixx) zusätzlich für ein Web den OS-Webmailer RoundCube installiert.

Das ganze funktioniert einwandfrei ... solange ich externe Postfächer (GMX & Co) aufrufe, bzw. mich mit den Daten Benutzer, Passwort, Mailhost dort anmelde.

Versuche ich das Ganze mit lokalen Daten (web99p123, Passwort, imap.meinedomain.de) versagt der Webmailer den Dienst und sagt mir entweder seien die Anmeldedaten falsch oder ein Login nicht möglich.

Ich weiß, dass es auch mit herkömmlichen Mailprgrammen unter Windoof in der Vergangenheit Probleme gegeben hat, wenn ich imap-Funktionen nutzen wollte. Schlussendlich hat es aber immer dann doch noch funktioniert, wenn ich die Überprüfung des Serverzertifikates nicht validieren liess.

Bei RoundCube komme ich aber nicht weiter.

Meine Fragen daher:

1. Hat jemand in diesem Forum mit vServer bereits RoundCube installiert und mit lokalen Konten zum Laufen gebracht?
2. Würde derjenige mir seine angepasste main.inc.php (natürlich mit anonymisierten Daten) zur Verfügung stellen?

Oder 3. Hat jemand Zeit und Musse mal zu schauen, ob er eine mögliche Fehlerquelle in meiner main.inc.php findet?

Wie gesagt: mit der o.a. main.inc.php kann ich externe IMAP-Server kontaktieren ... nur eben nicht den lokalen.

Ach ja: sowohl die Forensuche als auch googlen haben mich vorher nicht viel weiter gebracht ...

Ja - aber leider vergeblich. Wenn ich mich nicht irre, ist das ja wohl auch ausschliesslich für die Sendefunktion relevant und nicht für die Anmeldung am Postfach.
 
Nach vielem rumprobieren und nochmaliger Durchsicht aller relevanten Einstellungsmöglichkeiten habe ich schlussendlich des Rätsel´s Lösung gefunden.
Und damit zukünftige Dummies wie ich nicht wieder einen Thread aufmachen:

Wenn die Verbindung trotz richtig angegebener Login-Daten nicht funktioniert, dann einfach mal statt Port 143 den Port 993 (SSL-Verbindung) nutzen ... und schon klappt es auch mit dem Mailprogramm.
