Hallo zusammen,

kann ich eigentlich irgend etwas gegen diese Fehler hier machen?
Es handelt sich um einen Basic vServer von S4Y. Ich mache darauf so gut wie gar nichts, aber leider muss ich immer zwischendurch booten weil er sagt, dass zu viele Files open sind.

Hallo zusammen,

hat noch jemand eine Idee? Oder muss ich upgraden? Irgendwie kann ich die Probleme nicht wirklich nachvollziehen.

Versuch einmal dein System "schlanker" zu machen.
Die Instanzen von MySQL und Apache sind soweit ok. Aber ich würde zum Beispiel IMAP (wenn nicht benötigt) beenden oder in den Xinet.d schieben. Ich weiss auch nicht wieviele Resourcen zB das PHP Script braucht was da noch läuft...

Es ist halt nur ein kleiner Vserver den darf man nicht überfordern :)
 
Könnt ihr vllt. bei mir auch mal schauen. Der Server wird nach 24h extrem lansgam, jeden Abend!

weiss jemand ob s4y nachgträglich an den werten gedreht hat und leistungen beschnitten bez. open files etc.

wäre mal sehr interessant weil bei vielen von heute auf morgen nix mehr geht.

es wird jeden Tag langsamer... Ich hatte das vor einem Jahr schon mal... Dann haben die s4y Kollegen anscheinend neue Server dazu gestellt und dann war es für ein paar Monate schnell. Jetzt ist es wieder nicht mehr zu ertragen... was soll ich nur tun?

Irgendwie sollten wir mal die Threads zusammenlegen, geht ja um das Gleiche (https://serversupportforum.de/threads/server-vollkommen-ausgelastet.11962/).

Bei mir und sicher vielen anderen auch (einige von mir empfohlene Arbeitskollegen, die aber inzwischen alle wieder gekündigt haben oder noch kündigen werden) ist die Leistung der vServer ins bald unzumutbare abgesackt. Webserver, ftp, mysql und ein (zugegebenermassen nicht gerade schlanker) Mailserver reichen aus um das System in die Knie zu zwingen.

Wenn das schon immer so gewesen wäre, würde ich die Schuld bei mir suchen, aber da ich Anfang 2006 sehr glücklich mit einer deutlich "schwereren" Konfiguration (LAMP so wie jetzt, dazu noch IRC Bot und Bouncer, oidentd, fail2ban, Teamspeak2 Server ...) war und auch andere Benutzer über eine Verschlechterung der Zustände sprechen drängt sich mir als Aussenstehendem die Vermutung auf, dass da einfach deutlich mehr vServer auf einen Host gepackt wurden und so die pro User verfügbare Leistung geringer wird auf.
Ist ja vom Betriebswirtschaftlichen her auch nachzuvollziehen ... Mehr User pro Host -> mehr Einnahmen pro Host. Allerdings sollte man dabei auch beachten, dass viele Kunden nicht an der drei-monatigen Kündigungsfrist scheitern und ihren Vertrag beenden, statt über viele Jahre hinweg weiter zu zahlen und ihre Bekannten auch zu einem Vertrag zu überreden ;)

Naja, muss den Verantwortlichen ja eigentlich alles bekannt sein und auch so irgendwie funktionieren. Vielleicht zeigt ja irgendjemand erbarmen mit uns und verteilt die User ein bisschen, ansonsten bleiben uns nur die 3 im anderen Thread beschriebenen Lösungsmöglichkeiten.

Der RootDS sieht ja von den bei mir kritischen Werten recht gut aus ... Damit lässt es sich dann vielleicht ein halbes Jahr aushalten, bis ich mir einen schönen Root holen kann.
