Speicherplatzauslastung steigt stetig an --> tty10 Datei

Hallo.

Ich habe einen V-Server bei Strato. Seit einiger Zeit steigt die Speicherplatzauslastung stetig an, obwohl ich keine Dateien in diesen Dimensionen hochgeladen habe. Ich habe ein Pleskbackup am laufen, das die letzten 10 Tage sichert. Pro Woche wird der Speicherplatz etwa 1 GB knapper, was aber komischerweise mit der Größe von 7 Backups in etwa übereinstimmen würde.

Mein Verdacht war, dass die alten Backups nicht gelöscht werden und der Speicherplatz deshalb immer knapper wird. Aber der Verdacht hat sich nicht bestätigt. Es sind nur 10 Backups vorhanden. Gibt's noch einen anderen Speicherort als /var/lib/psa/dumps?

Hat jemand eine Idee, was es sein könnte?

Wie würdest du vorschlagen dies zu tun?
Gibt's in Plesk eine brauchbare Ansicht?

OK, habs gefunden. Im Ordner dev ist eine Datei namens tty10, die 27 GB hat...
Was zum Geier ist das und wofür ist die gut?

Im Prinzip sind die tty*-Dateien die verschiedenen Konsolen die du auf einem lokalen PC über STRG+ALT+NUMMER erreichen kannst.
Was diese auf einem vserver zu suchen haben ist mir allerdings auch ein Rätsel. Und erst Recht warum diese 27GB groß sein soll.
Poste doch bitte mal ein "ls -al /dev/tty*", da sollten statt Dateigrössen eigentlich die Major/Minor-Ziffern stehen.

Die tty10 ist oben nicht dabei, daher explizit hier:

Entweder das oder ordentliche Fehlkonfiguration.. evtl. ein syslog der in ein nicht vorhandenes /dev/tty10 loggen will?
Schau mal in deinem r/syslog nach ob da was von tty10 drin steht...

Tjoa, ich würd sagen da versucht der syslog-daemon auf die Konsole 10 (/dev/tty10) zu loggen. Da aber anscheinend das device-file fehlt(e) hat er da eine entsprechende Datei erstellt und schreibt munter weiter dort hinein.
Mach doch mal ein "tail /dev/tty10", dann solltest du sehen dass dort div. Log-Meldungen drin stehen.

Um das Problem zu beheben würde ich den Pfad dort anpassen oder die Zeile komplett kommentieren, die Meldungen sollten normalerweise eh zusätzlich noch in /var/log/messages geloggt werden.

Soll ich alle drei Zeilen auskommentieren, oder nur die erste bei der tty10 dabei steht?

Und: Kann ich diese riesige tty10 Datei dann löschen? Würde den Speicherplatz gerne wieder freischaufeln.

In var/log/messages ist jedoch nichts zu finden.
 
Das Problem ist, dass ich mal jemanden hatte, der sich um den Server gekümmert hat. Doch aus gesundheitlichen Gründen kann er dies nicht mehr tun.
Jetzt versuche ich mich durchzukämpfen. Nur hab ich eben selbst mit den Grundlagen noch Probleme. Manchmal kommt es eben anders als man denkt...

Daher wäre ich dir sehr verbunden, wenn du mir noch einen Tipp bezüglich der von dir erwähnten Optionen geben könntest.
 
Ja, diese Antworten hab ich hier zu genüge gelesen, nur so einfach ist nicht alles auf dieser Welt. Bis ich jemand Neues habe, der sich drum kümmert, muss nun eben ich ran, hilft ja alles nix.

Außerdem bin ich davon ausgegangen, dass man in diesem Forum Hilfe erhält.
Ansonsten bitte ein großes Schild an die Forumstür: "Nur für Profis."
 
Es geht nicht um "nur für Profis", überhaupt nicht. Aber Sicherheitslücken und Hacker nehmen auf Deine aktuelle Situation auch keine Rücksicht. Daher ist die Grundstimmung hier und die richtige Reihenfolge:

1. Linux INTENSIV lernen, und zwar zu Hause in einer VM oder einem alten Rechner.
2. Sich mit Interneteigenheiten (DNS System, etc.) vertraut machen.
3. (V)Server mieten und einrichten.
4. Am Ball bleiben, Updates einspielen, Sicherheitsprobleme kennen und asap gegensteuern.

Leider sehen wir hier viel zu oft Personen, die NUR 3. machen. Und 3. -> 1./2. ist auch die falschen Reihenfolge.:rolleyes:

Aber zurück zum Thema...
 
Da hast du auch völlig Recht, keine Frage.
Nur die jetzige Situation hab ich mir ja auch nicht ausgesucht und bin daher auf eure Hilfe angewiesen.

Sollte ich nicht bald jemanden finden, wird es so oder so auf einen Managed Server hinauslaufen. Doch zunächst wäre es toll, dieses Problem lösen zu können.

Hab mir deinen Guide jetzt ausführlichst zu Gemüte geführt und kann - das war mir auch zuvor schon klar - mit Sicherheit sagen, dass ich nicht in der Lage bin diesen Server zu administrieren. Daher hatte ich ja auch jemanden dafür, nur wer denkt schon an einen ernsten Krankheitsfall. Aber gut, im Nachhinein ist man immer schlauer.

Wie gesagt, wenn ich jetzt nicht sehr kurzfristig jemanden finde, wird es so oder so ein Managed Server.
