PSOD bei Passtrough

Hi

Seit ich auf ESXi-8.0U1-21495797-standard bin, lässt sich mein FreePBX nicht mehr starten. Wenn ich die Asterisk Karte per passtrough angehängt habe und die VM starte, macht der Host einen PSOD:

Ich habe auch versucht, alle Einträge in der vmx Datei bezüglich PCI zu löschen, und die Karte neu hinzufügen. Brachte auch nicht wirklich was.

Es ist eine asterisk Card AEX410 2 FXO+2 FXS,Issabel FreePBX Dahdi FXS Card FXO Card tdm410p. Host ist ein ASUS C612 Z10PA-U8 mit Xeon E5-2697A v4. FreePBX liegt auf einem NFS Storage.

Passtrough am Host funktioniert aber soweit, dem Filer ist ein PERC 310i durchgereicht, der läuft.

Weiss da Einer, wieso das plötzlich nicht mehr geht mit meiner Telefonkarte?

If a PCI passthrough is active on a DPU during the shutdown or restart of an ESXi host, the

host fails with a purple diagnostic screen

If an active virtual machine has a PCI passthrough to a DPU at the time of shutdown or

reboot of an ESXi host, the host fails with a purple diagnostic screen. The issue is specific for

systems with DPUs and only in case of VMs that use PCI passthrough to the DPU.

Workaround: Before shutdown or reboot of an ESXi host, make sure the host is in

maintenance mode, or that no VMs that use PCI passthrough to a DPU are running. If you

use auto start options for a virtual machine, the Autostart manager stops such VMs before

shutdown or reboot of a host.

Ja, danke. Ich habe den PSOD aber nicht beim Neustart, sondern wenn ich die VM starten möchte.

Hast du denn mal 80u1a geupdatet? Ist ja die Nachfolge-Versionsnummer zu deiner aktuell genutzen Version.

Ne, noch nicht. Dachte die braucht es nur für vSAN Server. Habe zwar ein vSAN, aber nicht das von vmware. Aber werde das mal probieren, wenn nicht gerade viel los ist auf dem Server.

Das 8.0 U1 ist eh etwas buggy. Komme nicht mehr auf den ESXi aus einem anderen vLAN. Das hat bisher immer problemlos geklappt. Weder auf den Hostclient noch per SSH. Am liebsten würde ich wieder zurück auf 8.0, da hatte ich keine bugs.

So, hatte die Schnauze voll, und bin auf ESXi-7.0U3g-20328353 zurück gegangen. FreePBX läuft wieder mit meiner Telefonkarte, der vmkernel aus dem fremdem vLAN ist wieder erreichbar, der USB Dongle in einer anderen VM muss nicht jedes Mal neu hinzugefügt werden, und Johny ist glücklich.

War wieder einmal riesen Gebastel bis das alles lief. Von 8.0 bin ich mal geheilt für vorerst.
