Plesk 8.xx Update fehlerhaft

Hallo zusammen,

da ich hier noch ganz neu bin, möchte ich einmal um eure Hilfe bitten.

Die Suchfunktion hat mir wenig geholfen, da ich (zugegeben) noch recht unbedarft in Sachen Linux bzw Plesk bin.

Als Serverumgebung habe ich einen Rootserver bei Strato mit Suse Linux 10.0, php 4.4.0,
mySQL 4.1.13 und original Plesk 8.0.

Nachträglich installiert sind ein Shoutcast-Server und Spam-Assassin.

Nachdem ich mit diversen Problemen (Pakete) zu kämpfen hatte, klappte es auch einigermaßen.

Nun zum eigentlichen Kernproblem, wo ich mit meinem Latein erstmal am Ende bin: Ich habe die Update-Funktion in Plesk genutzt und seit dem funktioniert SA nicht mehr. Der Dienst wurde beendet und lässt sich auch (über plesk) nicht mehr starten. Ebenso scheitern alle Update-Versuche im Plesk.

Wenn erfoderlich, kann ich den Report hier einstellen. Ich habe es erst einmal nicht gemacht, da der Report doch recht lang erscheint.

Bitte werft nicht gleich mit Steinen nach mir oder gebt mir den Tipp, mich erstmal über die Grundlagen zu informieren. Das mache ich nebenbei, sofern ich weiß, WO und WIE ich sie finde. Lesen und auch verstehen soll nicht das Problem sein (man kann ja mehrfach lesen ;-) )

Ich hoffe, jetzt nicht in ein Wespennest getreten zu sein.

Mit Steinen wirft hier glaube ich niemand, weil ich auch selber hier schon Hilfe bekommen habe, und selber auch nicht so der Linux Freak bin.

Aber zu Deinem Problem. Ich denke ein Auszug aus Deinen Logfiles wäre nicht schlecht, weil man feststellen muss warum der SA nicht startet. Und das steht meistens wichtiges drin.

Ich hatte es immer so gemacht das ich erst die alte Version auf den aktuellen Stand gebracht habe bis mir keine updates mehr für die intallierten Komponenten angeboten wurden, und dann erst den Versionswechsel gemacht habe.

Original war Plesk 8.0 drauf. Mit dieser Version habe ich SA von Strato (wird ja kostenfrei angeboten) installiert und "konfiguriert" - mehr schlecht als recht. Nachdem ich dann einigermaßen mit dem 8.0er Plesk zurecht kam, hab ich bei den Updates gesehen, daß es mehrere Updates gibt. In meinem Eifer und meiner Unwissenheit diesbezüglich hab ich gleich versucht, auf 8.3.0 upzudaten, was aber zur Folge hatte, daß Plesk nun teilweise in Englisch ist, Watchdog mir immer als Datum den 1. Januar 1970 anzeigt, Horde Webmail gar nicht mehr geht und der Dienst SA sich nicht mehr starten lässt. Ebenso lässt sich kein weiteres Update mehr durchführen, so daß ich gewaltig auf dem Schlauch stehe.

Meine persönliche Vermutung ist aber auch, daß ich durch die manuelle Installation diverser Pakete über Yast evtl etwas zerschossen habe. Das fiel mir aber erstmal gar nicht auf, da ja scheinbar alles lief. Man achtet eben immer nur auf den Teil, den man gerade vor sich hat und denkt eben in sehr kleinen Kreisen.

Insgesamt muss ich eh noch viel lernen, da ich z.B. mit der Backup Funktion, die mir von Strato angeboten wird, noch nicht zurecht komme.

Meine mehr oder weniger panischen Gedanken gehen nun seit ein paar Tagen in die Richtung, daß ich alle Benutzer im Plesk, alle Domains und alle Datenbanken manuell sichern muss und dann wohl den Server neu aufsetzen darf. Um dieses zu vermeiden, wende ich mich eben an euch hier. Da ich nach wie vor den Eindruck habe, daß der Server "sehr stabil" läuft, wäre es wohl weit über das Ziel hinaus geschossen. Ok, wie man Plesk usw einzeln neu installiert, weiß ich noch nicht.. aber daran denke ich jetzt auch mal noch nicht.

Evtl. wäre es aber auch sinnvoll, statt des 4er php und MySQL gleich in diesem Zusammenhang auf die 5er Versionen zu gehen? Dazu müsste ich aber wieder um Hilfe bitten, da meine Kenntnisse dafür noch viel zu gering sind.

Man sieht also, ich bin bemüht.. aber rein autodidaktisch wird das wohl eine Odyssee sondergleichen. Außerdem kommt noch hinzu, daß es wohl kaum tagsüber machbar ist, alles "in Ruhe" neu zu machen. egal... wichtiger ist für mich, daß ich einen funktionierenden Webserver habe, der auch noch sicher ist - wobei sicher ja relativ ist.

So Rainer,

1. mitm Watchdog hatte ich auch mal das Datumsproblem, das war aber dann mal mit dem Update auf 8.3.0 gefixt.
2. mitm Horde das ging bei mir auch mal nicht weil das Memorylimit in der PHP.ini zu niedrig war.
3. ich glaube das hat Dein Problem ausgelöst das du von 8.0.0 gleich auf 8.3.0 gegangen bist. (meine Vermutung wegen den Versionskonflikten in den Logs)

Versuche doch mal den Pleskinstaller aus der Console zu starten. Normalerweise sollte der auch in Deinem Rootverzeichniss drinne liegen. (so in der Art sollte die Datei heissen aber nicht gleich weil mein Suse ist 10.2. swsoft_installer_v3.3.0_build080116.12_os_SuSE_10.2_i386). Wenn er nicht da ist von SWsoft/Paralells holen, natürlich den passend für Deine Installation. Dann sollte die Installation zumindest starten.

Hier im Forum findest Du genügend HowTo´s um Deine MySql und PHP zu aktualisieren. Allerdings habe ich das PHP von einem Fachmann machen lassen, weil mir das selber zu heiss war.

Deine Domains kannst Du eigentlich ganz bequem per Plesk sichern, funktioniert bei mir ganz gut, benutze ich auch um Kunden zwischen Servern hin und her zu schieben, wenn mal was nicht passt. Zumindest hat es bei mjir immer geklappt. Und vor allem vor einem update immer sichern, weil man weiss nie was passiert.

Im Moment habe ich ein ganz anderes Problem zu beheben, was sich durch die Bastelei eingeschlichen hat:

Ich habe von tufat.com den Flash-Chat auf einer Domain installiert, welcher bis heute auch sauber lief. Aber jetzt vor ein paar Minuten sah ich Meldungen, daß der Chat nicht funktionieren würde (diese Chatboxen auf der HP eben). Das sah ich mir dann an und wirklich: Statt eines Chats gibts nur noch eine weiße Seite. Weiß der Teufel, wie das nun passieren konnte. Weder an den Dateien noch an der Datenbank habe ich in der Zwischenzeit Änderungen vorgenommen. Nicht mal versehentlich.

Da ich einzig mit Plesk zugange war und über putty bzw WinSCP auf den Server zugriff, kommt mir das nun seeeeehr dubios vor. Denn ich war definitiv weder in den Domainverzeichnissen noch werkelte ich an der Datenbank rum. Auch habe ich schon versucht, den Flash-Chat zu reanimieren, indem ich die Install Routine noch einmal startete. Aber das brachte keinen Erfolg.

Tja... da hab ich also gleich einen ganzen Batzen Probleme, die es zu lösen gilt. Nur wo fange ich jetzt an? Chat wäre natürlich für die Nutzer sinnvoll.. aber mit einem hinkenden Server mag ich das nicht wirklich zur Verfügung stellen.

Also zurück zu Deinem Rat: Den Installer von der Console starten... ähm ok Console = putty... nur wo steckt er? Ich kenne das Verzeichnis nicht und müsste suchen.

Da fällt mir ein: Ich hatte bevor ich hier postete, erstmal im Forum gesucht und bin darauf gestoßen, daß das tmp Verzeichnis zu voll sein könnte (wegen Dienst SA starten). Dieses habe ich geleert (aber ne Sicherung lokal mit WinSCP gemacht). Aber das kann doch keine Auswirkung auf den jetzt nicht mehr funktionierenden Chat haben - wäre doch total unlogisch und ohne Zusammenhang.

Wo fange ich nun an? Sicherung werde ich mal über Plesk versuchen... aber auch über FTP (man weiss ja nie). Ebenso kopiere ich mal die Datenbanken (kann ich das nicht auch über WinSCP machen?)

Sorry nochmals, wenn ich erstmal so viele Fragen stelle.

Also der Autoinstaller sollte in dem Verzeichnis \Root liegen. Wenn nicht wie gesagt ziehen und starten.

Und ich denke mal, wie du selber sagtest, eines nach dem anderen. Wenn ich Dich wäre würde ich erst mal den Server wieder sauber zum laufen bringen.

Datenbanken kannst nicht einfach kopieren, diese müssen gesichert werden. z.B. ind Plesk mit phpmyadmin kannst Du einen dump machen der Datenbank, oder an der Console. Da gibts hier im Forum auch Posts dazu wie man das macht. Einfach mal die Suchfunktion bemühen.

Du hast Recht.. eins nach dem anderen. Im Moment sichere ich alle Domains. Wie ich ne Kopie der Datenbank via MySQL mache, ist mir schon bekannt... (php und mysql ist mir ja nicht soooo fremd wie Linux und Plesk)

Auch denke ich, daß es mehr Sinn macht, den Rootserver einmal komplett neu aufzusetzen. Dadurch erspare ich mir viel Zeit, da es einfacher sein dürfte, "mal eben" die Einrichtung wieder vorzunehmen, als stunden- oder tagelang verzweifelt nach Fehlern zu suchen. Mit der Sicherung der Domains und Datenbanken ist im Prinzip ja das Wesentliche getan. Etwas anderes wäre es, wenn ich genug Erfahrung mit Linux etc hätte. Dann würde ich ganz sicher eher den Fehler eingrenzen, als "mal eben" das System zu erneuern.

Mal sehen, was ich heute noch so hinbekomme... aber erstmal danke!

Sodele.... hab jetzt die Kiste wieder vernünftig am laufen. Einzig eine Domain bzw die Daten davon wollte nicht mehr so recht.

Hab dafür jetzt direkt Suse 10.2 Plesk 8.3.0 mit php5.2.5 und mySQL 5.0.26 drauf. Somit fällt auch das leidige Update von php und mySQL weg.

Am besten ist, daß nun auch wieder SA mitläuft. Wobei ich dann doch noch Fragen dazu habe: Wie konfiguriere ich SA vernünftig und sinnvoll?
