Battlefield 2 Server installation

Hi, I hope anybody can help me to get BF2 dedicated server on my debian rootserver running.



I executed bf2-linuxded-1.0.2442.0-installer.sh and went through the process:

EULA : accept
Punkbusterc : yes

I edited serversettings.con:

internet 1
punkbuster 1

.. and saved the file.

that I executed ./start.sh

All required folders are on its place and start.sh is executable:

But nothing happens!
I just get an new command line showing user@server:/home/bf2/bf2# iser@server :/home/bf2/bf2#

Please help me on this.

I don't know bf2-servers but what do you expect to happen?

running start.sh and getting no output on the console should mean that the server in running in the background as da daemon and everything is ok. So check your processes if there's any process of the bf2-server. Or have a look into the start.sh and maybe you'll find any infos where logs with further information may be written.

The punkbuster support for the game has been discontinued. The first problems with the installation can arise here.
Try it without Punkbuster, if it doesn't work, check the dependencies

I'm pretty sure BF2 will not run on anything newer than Debian 9 especially 1.0.xxxx. Last one is something 1.5.xxxx ish
