Apache Einstellungen verbessern

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe einen kleinen Vserver be keyweb:

* Prozessor-Leistung
* 30 GB HDD
* 512 MB RAM
* 768 MB Flexi RAM
* 1500 GB Traffic monatlich*
* Keyhelp Server Verwaltung

Und betreibe dort einen kleinen Pichoster. Derzeit kommen am Tag etwa 1000-2000 Besucher. Sehr viele Pics sind aber auch hotlinked. Gegen Abend brauch die Seite schon mal ein wenig bis sich diese aufbaut. Der Traffic am Tag liegt derzeit bei 3-4Gb. Den vserver betreibe mit plesk. Ansonsten habe ich keine veränderungen an dem server vorgenommen.

Meine apache2.conf sieht derzeit so aus:

Kann man an den apache Einstellungen etwas verbesseren? Wäre um jeden Rat dankbar!

hm ok ist das sehr aufwendig den httpd zu tauschen? habs leider noch nie gemacht... die apache einstellungen kann man aber so lassen, nichts zu verbessern? hatte von einem alten projekt noch weitgehend so übernommen, nur ein paar änderungen gemacht... so wirklich auskennen tue ich mich aber nicht ganz damit, um erlich zu sein, daher auch die frage ob da was zu verbessern wäre
 
Keiner der mit weiterhelfen kann? :( An den Apache Settings lässt sích doch sicher einiges optimieren :/

Liegt es denn wirklich am Apache Webserver? Was sagt mod_status? Oder ist es eventuell der vServer selbst, der an seine Leistungsgrenze stößt? Wie sieht ein top aus, wenn die Seiten langsam sind?

hast du ja bereits vorgenommen. Und deine prefork Einstellungen passen auch in etwa zu deinen 512 MB RAM.

Könntest noch nicht benötigte Apache Module deaktivieren (mit # ausklammern). Wenn deine Seite mit MySQL läuft, solltest du mal die MySQL Variablen in der /etc/my.cnf prüfen. Hilfreich ist auch das Tuning-Primer Script.

sollten in der /etc/my.cnf auf jeden Fall vorhanden sein. Und auf den RAM Verbrauch deines Servers achten! Dieser darf nicht höher als 512 MB sein.

Mein rootDS von Keyweb hat z.B. nur 256 MB RAM. Darum habe ich u.a. RAM Verbrauch von Apache und MySQL begrenzt. Zudem habe ich Dienste wie Bind und Plesk deaktiviert.

Ich würde mal diese Einstellung testen.

Also ich hab jetzt massiv alles hochgesetzt. Ohne wirklich Ahnung zu haben, was genau was bewirkt, um erlich zu sein. Der vServer rennt jetzt seitdem ohne Probleme, keine Ausfälle mehr. Ob die Einstellungen jetzt so gut sind weiß ich allerdings nicht wirklich. Cpu Auslastung ist aber nicht groß angestiegen, sonst ist mir auch nichts aufgefallen. Einstellungen sehen jetzt wie folgt aus:

StartServers = beim Start von Apache wird ein Elternprozess gestartet

MinSpareServers = es werden mindestens 10 Kindsprozess gestartet und unbeschäftigt gehalten

MaxSpareServers = es werden maximal 20 Kindsprozesse gestartet und unbeschäftigt gehalten

MaxClients = maximal werden 40 Kindsprozesse gestartet und beschäftigt gehalten

MaxRequestsPerChild = nach 8000 Requests wird der Kindprozess eleminiert und durch einen neuen ersetzt

Kindsprozesse zu generieren dauerd eine Weile. Darum werden durch die Funktion MinSpare und MaxSpare immer welche bereit gehalten, damit diese nicht erst generiert werden müssen. Kleine MinSpare/MaxSpare Werte reichen aber meist völlig aus.

Jeder beschäftigte Prozess kann einen Clienten (Seitenbesucher) bedienen. Unter Top sind das dann die apache2 Prozesse.

2500 Besucher/Tag hat nichts zu sagen. Entscheidend sind die gleichzeitigen Verbindungen, welche benötigt werden. Läßt man zuviele Prozesse zu, geht Apache der RAM aus und es kommt zu Fehlermeldungen.

nun hast du fast 100% mehr Prozesse (Tasks) aber auch 100% mehr Tasks welche nur schlafen und warten und dabei RAM verbrauchen.

Beispiel:

Angenommen Apache hat 40 gleichzeitge Verbindungen, alle 40 MaxClients Prozesse (apache2) sind beschäftigt. Wozu dann noch MinSpare 10? Mehr wie 40 Prozesse werden eh nicht beschäftigt und weitere Seitenbesucher müssen warten bis ein MaxClient Prozess frei wird.

MinSpare/MaxSpare bringt nur was, wenn man im Schnitt 50% MaxClients benötigt und unerwartet weitere 10 MaxClient Prozesse zusätzlichl benötigt werden.

Die 10 zusätzlichen MaxClient Prozesse hat Apache aber auch so sehr schnell generiert. MinSpare/MaxSpare ist quasi nur ein Puffer.

Kleine MinSpare/MaxSpare Werte reichen aber völlig aus.
Diese pauschale Aussage stimmt so nicht.
Kleine Werte für MinSpare sind z.B. relativ blöd wenn es häufiger vorkommt, daß plötzlich ein Haufen neuer Anfragen rein kommen.

Es gibt dann keine zusätzlichen 10 Childs.
Die Spare-Einstellungen sind für den Process-Collector. (Ähnlich einem Garbage-Collector.) Der schaut hin und wieder die Prozesse durch und prüft anhand der Min- und Max-Einstellungen ob Childs aufgelöst oder vorsorglich erstellt werden müssen.

ich hab mal eine frage, hab ja limmer noch den vserver bei keyweb, meine stats im vz sehen so aus:

das heißt doch das ich nur 2% des servers nutze und insgesamt, der server zu 99,31% ausgelastet ist. das ich im grunde kaum was vom server brauche, aber die anderen nutzer alles nutzen oder? hat keyweb die server dann nicht sehr sehr schlecht eingeteilt? oder sind die stats falsch die ich daraus lese? weil auf der kiste geht echt nichts mehr, dass schon um 17 uhr..

Hallo zusammen!

Ich habe jetzt mitlerweile einen neuen vServer. Dieser hat weitaus mehr Leistung, allerdings scheinen die Einstellungen bei mir einfach nicht optimal zu sein. Ist ein vServer wieder von keyweb (Reseller) mit folgenden Eigenschaften:

VS-Premium
CPU: Fair Use
RAM: 2 GB
Flexi-RAM: 3 GB
HDD: 120 GB

Leider ist der Seitenaufbau bei den ganzen Anfragen wieder extrem langsam und weiß leider nicht so ganz weiter. Hab ein wenig die apache Einstellungen wieder verändert, aber es tut sich leider nichts. Läuft weiterhin sehr langsam alles.

Ja hatte den VServer neugestartet. Bzw auch den Test erst kurz danach gemacht. vServer läuft aber weiterhin sehr schlecht und langsam. Auch nach mehr als 3 Stunden.
 
Ein Problem bei vServern ist immer: Du bist nicht Herr über die Hardware.
Wenn z.B. Dein Server-Nachbar starke CPU-Last erzeugt werden die anderen vServer auf dem selben Host-System ausgebremst.

Ich hatte mir ja deswegen extra ein stärkeren Server gekauft. Ich betreibe weiterhin den Imagehoster dadrauf. Ich weiß auch wann der Traffic kommt. Eine Seite, die diesen Imagehoster nutzt, wenn diese das Update macht und die Pics per Hotlink drin hat ist ziemlich stark alles ausgebremmt. Das ist kein anderer Nachbar, sondern ich selber. An den Einstellungen lässt sich doch sicher irgendwas optimieren?! Hab da mehr oder weniger wie ich hier so ein wenig gelesen habe die Einstellungen gemacht. Ohne aber wirklich bescheid zu wissen.
