S4Y-vServer online, Seiten nicht erreichbar

Hallo zusammen,

merkwürdige Dinge geschehen mit meinem kleinen vServer (209014). Bisher lief immer alles einwandfrei und ich wüßte auch nicht, dass ich was an der Konfi geändert hätte, oder das sonstwas vorgefallen ist.

Seit zwei Wochen fängt er jetzt an, regelmäßig am Rad zu drehen. Ich komme zwar noch per SSH und FTP drauf, aber über's Web ist keine der Seiten erreichbar. Nach einem manuellen Reboot funktioniert es wieder, bis dann irgendwann wieder nix geht.

Woran könnte das liegen, hat da jemand nen Tipp für mich, oder bin ich einfach zu blöd?
 
Ok, die neueste Entwicklung zeigt, dass auch ein Reboot nix mehr bringt, die Seiten sind über's Web nicht mehr erreichbar.

willkommen an Board.

Grundsätzlich gibt es viele Gründe, warum ein vServer etwas hängt.
Meist ist es Speichermangel.
Das erkennst Du in /proc/user_beancounters, wenn irgendwo failcnt auffällig hoch geht.

Meist ist ein Reboot unnötig (ist ja kein Windows) sondern es reicht den Apache oder evtl. MySQL neu zustarten.
Gerade diese beiden fressen in der Grundinstallation den meisten Speicher. Falls Du also keine eigenen Programme/Dienste/Server nachinstalliert hast, versuch diese beiden mal runter zu drehen.
Dazu nutze bitte die Boardsuche (z.B. 'apache performance').

Ich würde ja auch nix sage, aber bisher hat sich das Gerät vorbildlich verhalten *g* Irgendwie lässt er über die närrischen Tage anscheinend nach...

Nach nem Reboot ist auch erstmal alles auf 0. Du mußt ihn ansehen, wenn der Apache mal wieder weg ist.

Ähm... es hat sich durch den Reboot leider nix geändert... die Seiten sind nach wie vor nicht erreichbar *g* von daher wird sich da wohl nix mehr tun

EDIT: Da hatte ich jetzt noch eine Idee, aber weitergebracht hat sie mich auch nicht. Wollte halt wissen, wie viele Prozesse der Kernel max. zulässt, aber es sind mehr als genug *g*

Viele Erkenntnisse nicht, aber 18 mal sendmail ist auch nicht gerade normal.

Und anscheinend läuft der Apache ja jetzt.
Gehen die Fehler weiterhin so weiter?

Hmm, ich habe es jetzt mal die Tage beobachtet und es ist etwas seltsam. Momentan ist er zwar langsam, aber er läuft.

Vielleicht liegt es auch hieran :D

Evtl. liegt es einfach daran, daß Du Deine root-Mails nicht ließt.
Denn wenn Du dies tätest, wärst Du evtl. schon viel früher dem Spammer auf die Spur gekommen.

Ok, das Problem ist jetzt erkannt und ich habe mir gedacht, nimmste halt Spamassassin und Mitler, haustes auf den Server drauf und alle Probleme sind gelöst.

Was lernen wir daraus?

Ok... also, die Installation hat fehlerfrei funktioniert, woran ich nur scheitere ist die sendmail.cf. Ja ja, ich weiß :D

Das Problem ist, dass es auf meiner Distri keine sendmail.mc gibt, also habe ich mir mal die Dokumentationen angesehen. Und jetzt blicke ich da nicht mehr durch.

Bei mir läuft SuSE Linux 9.3. Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, wird Suse ja mit der linux.mc u.a. konfiguriert. Ferner habe ich noch die SuSEconfig.sendmail gefunden und natürlich auch die sendmail.cf.

Ich habe alles der Reihe nach probiert. Also, ich habe gem. der Installationsanweisung, die ja auch hier gepostet ist, SpamAssassin und Mitler installiert. Es stand noch die Aufgabe aus, die sendmail.mc (die es bei mir ja nicht gibt) um diesen INPUT-Eintrag zu ergänzen, der gefordert ist.

Tja, ähm *hust*... wo packe ich den denn jetzt rein? Hab's mit der linux.mc versucht und anschließend kompiliert und auch mit der SuSEconfig.sendmail und anschließend per SuSEconfig kompiliert... Ergebnis war immer das Gleiche. Sendmail hat sich als Dienst beendet und wollte nicht mehr laufen. Zeitgleich hatte er mir eine neue sendmail.cf.SuSEconfig erstellt, aber die sendmail.cf hatte er auch noch drin. Auf welche greift er denn jetzt zu? Fragen über Fragen...

Ok, habe noch was gefunden.... mal probieren, wenn es nicht funktioniert, melde ich mich nochmal *g*

SpamAssassin und milter laufen jetzt, allerdings erhalte ich noch Fehlermeldungen und nach einem Reboot des Servers starten die Dienste nicht neu, obwohl ich die entsprechenden Startscripts erstellt habe...

Du mußt sie auch mit dem richtigen Runlevel verknüpfen:

Entweder läuft Dein SA als root, oder Du hast ein falsches Temp-/Basis-Verzeichnis angegeben. lock-Files sollten entweder unter /var/... oder /tmp/ angelegt werden.

So, jetzt läuft es einigermaßen, bis auf diese Fehlermeldung:

In dem zugehörigen AWL.pm steht an besagter Stelle folgendes:

eval { $whitelist->finish(); };

Könnte mir hier mal jemand nen Tipp geben, was ich jetzt noch falsch gemacht habe?
 
Hier wird dem Objekt '$whitelist' unterstellt, daß es initialisiert wurde. (Was es an dieser Stelle aber nicht ist.) Da das Ganze in einem eval steht, ist dies lediglich als Warnung zu sehen. Das Programm wird dadurch bei weitem nicht beendet.

Der Fehler beruht evtl. auf eine eingestellte Whitelist, die SA aber z.B. nicht öffnen kann. (z.B. aufgrund von Zugriffsrechten auf Datei oder Verzeichnisse oder evtl. auch gar nicht vorhanden.)

Soooo, ich glaube, wir können einen zufriedenen Schlußstrich ziehen. Dank Huschi, Huschi, Huschi, Google, und den restlichen Forenbeiträgen hier habe ich nicht nur die Probleme mit dem Server an sich behoben, sondern auch gleich noch was gegen die Spamflut getan... das Ding rennt wie die Wutz :D

Zudem bin ich wesentlich schlauer, als noch am Anfang :)

Wie hast Du die zwei letzten Probleme gelößt?
