openVPN via SSH Tunnel

Ich habe auf meinem Ubuntu-Server einen openVPN Server eingerichtet. Über mein Win-Vista Laptop kann ich mich darauf ohne Probleme verbinden und auch die Verbindung nutzen. Mit push "redirect-gateway" in der server.conf veranlasse ich, dass auf dem Client sämtlicher Traffic über den openVPN Server läuft. Auch das funktioniert, surfen etc. geht alles via openVPN.

Da aber z.B. an meiner Schule ziemlich viel geblockt wird, komme ich mit dem openVPN Client nicht raus. Ich will dies nun über einen SSH Tunnel lösen. Das gleiche habe ich bereits mit einem Web-Proxy (Polipo) gelöst. Da kann ich einen SSH Tunnel aufbauen und dann via diesen Proxy surfen.
Der SSH-Tunnel funktioniert auch.

Für openVPN erstelle ich nun einen SSH-Tunnel auf Port 1194

Die Verbindung funktioniert.

Mit dem openVPN Client kann ich dann auch auf localhost.1194 connecten und die VPN Verbindung wird aufgebaut.

Sobald aber die VPN Verbindung aufgebaut ist scheint mein SSH-Tunnel zu crashen.

Kann sich das jemand erklären? Was mache ich falsch? Hat jemand ein Tutorial das funktioniert?
Ich habs damit Hacks from the kitchen: OpenVPN tunneling over SSH versucht. Sofern ich mich nicht täusche, mache ich eigentlich alles gleich...

Habe die Lösung gefunden. In der server.conf muss es wie folgt heissen:

def1 -- Use this flag to override the default gateway by using 0.0.0.0/1 and 128.0.0.0/1 rather than 0.0.0.0/0. This has the benefit of overriding but not wiping out the original default gateway.
