Hetzner Festplatte kaputt -> Sicherung

Hallo,
meine Festplatte spuckt i/o Errors aus und ich würde die Tauschen lassen. Wie aber sicher ich am besten mein Server? Mein Server ist im Raid1 Konfiguriert und sollte sich eigentlich selber rebuilden oder? Muss ich das Raid vorher auflösen?

Hallo Fabian,

grundsätzlich ist Raid kein Ersatz für ein Backup, daher richte Dir unbeding ein Backup ein (jetzt und in Zukunft).

Vor dem Tausch ist auch in jedem Fall ein Backup anzulegen.

Dein Raid sollte Dir ja trotz der IO-Fehler den Zugriff auf die Daten ermöglichen, also erstmal ein Backup anstoßen. Beim eigentlichen Tausch musst Du das Raid vorher nicht auflösen, das Raid kommt nach dem Tausch 'degraded' hoch, dann muss die neue Platte eingebaut werden.

Das genaue Verfahren ist vom Controller abhängig, also ob hard- oder software-Raid und dann von Hersteller zu Hersteller verschieden.

md2 : active raid1 sdb3[1]

md2 besteht nur noch aus sdb3, sda3 wurde aus dem Raid geworfen. Also ist sehr wahrscheinlich sda defekt. Das hätte man aber z.B. aus den Kernelnachrichten (dmesg oder /var/log/kern.log) auslesen können.

Stell dich darauf ein nach dem Plattentausch ins Rescue booten zu müssen um den Bootloader auf die Neue sda draufzubekommen.

Ah ok hat alles Super geklapt Grub müsste wieder installiert sein und das Raid Rebuildet grade danke ;) Kann ich den Server einfach neu starten oder muss ich den Rebuild abwarten?
